Decayed heritage structures - A professional issue
Abstract
The paper examines the requirements of condition surveys and structural assessments of structures listed in a Heritage Register, which have sustained some form of decay or damage. It is explained that the structural investigation of existing structures should go well beyond performing a check against an existing Code. A case study serves to emphasise the resulting loss of amenity if these investigations are not properly carried out.
