Analysis of reinforced retaining walls by homogenized approach
Abstract
The methods presented in this paper, originating from a macroscopic point of view, consider reinforced earth a homogenous material. Two homogenized methods, transversely isotropic and equivalent isotropic, were employed in numerical analysis of reinforced retaining walls. The results show that both methods are easy and simple and can save much computing time. Their performances are close to that using separated method.
