Abstract

A research committee of the Dutch Centre of Underground Construction (COB) has started to develop Steel Fibre Reinforced High Performance Concrete (SFRHPC) mixtures for structural applications in shield tunnel linings in the Netherlands. This paper describes the prospected advantages of the application of SFR(HP)C in segmental linings as well as in continuous, extruded concrete linings. Further, the research aims considering the material properties of SFRHPC are presented and a test program on SFRHPC is discussed.
