Abstract

Change detection techniques applied to SPOT-PAN images have been found to be useful for detecting changes in road networks. Particularly new roads and residential areas were easily detected, changes within existing urban areas were more difficult to detect. The technique that has been developed during this study is being used to apply a change detection for the entire Netherlands based on SPOT-PAN imagery.
