Abstract

The paper deals with problems connected with management of coal waste in Poland. The waste is examined in order to determine the way of its utilization. On this basis an integrated Quality Waste Monitoring Program (QWMP) was presented; it deals with functioning of monitoring in the arrangement: chemistry of waste — requirements for its utilization. Elements of the operating system of QWMP were singled out, as well as means and scope of monitoring implementation. Chemical analyses supplemented with physical-mechanical and radiometric tests constitute grounds for implementing the targets of the system. Introduction of the proposed system, as an element of environment monitoring, enables to determine precisely the possibilities of coal waste utilization.
