Quarrying of dimension stone in different geological conditions
Abstract
The paper gives the example of the useful method of massive deposits exploitation in the Sivac quarry. Presented are the best methods of rock mass exploitation in case when the optimum bench heights amounted between 7 and 9 m. The exploitation method for the geologically more complicated deposits with substantial open fractures was presented on the example of the Kupinovo quarry. The article also includes the results of the experimental testings of dependence of the sawing productivity and durability of diamond wire upon the position change of the diamond wire saw. The results of these research provided the application of the exploitation technology in the previously stated methods, which increased the productivity of the rock mass.
