Abstract

The local water works enables us to create flood waves using their surplus water. According to our scientific hypothesis, we have the possibility to control the form and number of waves to gather information about flood water sediment interactions. An isolated examination of in-channel processes happens without superimposition by external influences. The activation and exhaustion of dissolved substances, as well as reason of mobilization and dynamic transport patterns for suspended sediment Contaminents are focused upon. Another focal point is the influence of different types of floodwaves on changes in sediment quality. Areas of resuspension are identified. Adsorption processes are outlined as a reason for sinking heavy metal contents in the water body. The lag effect of various substances is exposed as well as a partial remobilization of heavy metals from the pore water system. During different stages of the hydrograph, particle size and density determine the content of some adsorbed Contaminents which are also controlled by antecedent conditions in the whole basin.
