Attenuation and phase delay of dynamic pressure propagated into reclaimed zone behind caisson-type seawall
Abstract
Experimental study is carried out to investigate the attenuation and phase delay phenomena of the dynamic pressure which appear during propagation into the reclaimed zone of a caisson-type seawall. A series of the model tests reveal that dynamic pressure propagates radially into the reclaimed zone and that the dynamic pressure propagates into the reclaimed zone attenuating the pressure and delaying its phase in a similar manner as it propagates into seabed vertically downward. Through these findings, some empirical formulae are driven which estimate the attenuation and phase delay of dynamic pressure during its propagation into the reclaimed zone.
