A constrained dual membrane wave barrier
Abstract
The performance of a dual membrane wave barrier constrained by mooring lines attached along its sides is investigated. Previous studies have indicated that a single or dual membrane barrier system is effective when the tension is sufficiently large. The use of additional mooring lines provides further tension as well as modifying the coupling of the excited membrane modes to the propagating transmitted wave. These effects are investigated to show that the overall performance of the dual membrane wave barrier system can be improved.
