Abstract

This paper describes a hydraulic model study on near field mixing of the Bailong Gang wastewater outfall in cross-flow. The effects of diffuser parameters including horizontal and vertical port discharge angle, number of nozzles, port arrangement, leading tube on the port and riser spacing are examined. The experimental results show that diffuser design parameters have significant influence on near field dilution. It is found that the vertical jet angle should be controlled from 0° to 5°, nozzle number should not exceed 14, and ports should be arranged in two rows in deep water and single row in shallow water.
