Invited lecture: Setting the stage: Large eddy simulation of laboratory scale flows*
Abstract
Large eddy simulations are shown to produce quantitatively accurate results for complex flows at a laboratory scale. Preliminary results from an extension of these simulations to unsteady and three-dimensional sediment transport are given. The bases for further extensions to field scale are presented, and, thus, the stage is set for this next step.
