Dispersion of pollutants around buildings — Are current models adequate?
Abstract
The dispersion of building exhaust was investigated in field experiments carried out on a cube-shaped building in downtown Montreal. One of the main goals of the study was to evaluate minimum dilution models that are currently used for design. The results show that the Halitsky model gives conservative predictions of minimum dilution. The models of Wilson-Lamb and Wilson-Chui generally provide reasonable lower bounds for D min , although both models produced unconservative predictions of some of the field data.
