Dynamic response of a box girder bridge during construction
Abstract
This paper deals with post calculations of buffeting and vortex shedding response measured on a concrete box girder bridge during the construction stage. The bridge has a main span of 298m. Wind tunnel tests suggests that vertical oscillations are primarily caused by vortex shedding. A procedure for calculating vortex shedding response in the frequency and time domain is suggested. Comparison with full scale measurements shows encouraging results.
