Automatic pedestrian wind category assignment using a computer image processing system
Abstract
The paper details the development of an image processing system to measure pedestrian level wind conditions when combined with the erosion technique. The image processing techniques used to generate the erosion pattern and pedestrian level comfort category images are described. Finally sample images of the wind tunnel erosion test, erosion patterns generated and pedestrian level comfort category images are presented. The developed system has improved the erosion technique by generating clear and accurate erosion and pedestrian category images that can be analysed quickly.
