Use of weather data in water resistant design of buildings
Abstract
A computer based weather station was established at CSIRO, North Ryde, Australia. Atmospheric weather data including simultaneous data of wind and rain are periodically collected from this facility. These data are analysed to understand their impact to the design of buildings. The relevance of this data to the specification and evaluation of water resistance performance is discussed. The current analysis indicates that an understanding of micro climate data of any location can lead to a better design of buildings in general and the facade in particular.
