Abstract

In number of cases the very wide boundary-layer wind tunnel at the Danish Maritime Institute has been used for the investigation of flow patterns in complex terrain in relation to aviation concerns. Such wind-tunnel studies have been applied in connection with the investigations of an aircraft crash and with the improvement of turbulence warning procedures for an existing airport. Furthermore, studies of turbulence have been performed in the evaluation of a new airport and establishment of its on-line turbulence warning system.
