Numerical and experimental study of the wind flow around a group of low-rise pavilions
Abstract
The present study reports on the comparison between numerical and experimental results of the wind flow around a group of several pavilions, separated by passageways, located in the EXPO ‘98 — a World Exposition (Lisbon, Portugal). The performance of the numerical procedure is evaluated by comparing the predicted values against wind tunnel simulation results, and with data obtained from site measurements. The study clearly indicates that the numerical predictions capture well the physical trends displayed by the wind tunnel results, and the on-site data.
