Study on floatability of maceral
Abstract
As evidenced by result of study on physio-chemical property and flotation characteristic of maceral, the maceral shows a remarked size segragation tendency, with the content of fusinoid in the –0.043 mm fraction about 20-30 percentage points higher than those in the +0.043 mm fractions. Fractionated flotation of +0.074 mm can produce a concentrate with the contents of vitrinite and fusinoid groups being 85.9% and 11.6% respectively, resulting in a removal rate of the latter as high as 58.48%. Whereas flotation of the –0.074 mm fraction produces no remarkable result in enrichment of vitrinite group. It is demonstrated by maceral analysis that the monomeric fusain can be preferentially floated up due to its better floatability.
