Partial backfilling with high-water rapid setting material to control mining subsidence
Abstract
This paper presents a new method for controlling mining subsidence and damage in room and pillar mining by partial backfill of mined rooms with high-water rapid setting material. Stress ratios in filled pillars are investigated using the geometric method for predicting stresses in inclusions,. The results of numerical simulations show that the new method is effective in controlling mining subsidence and simple in operation.
