Abstract

Paper presents the results of research received on laboratory stand of the University of Mining and Metallurgy, Krakow during cutting of artificial samples of rock with uniaxial compressive strength from up to 105 MPa with and without cutting process assistance of high-pressure water jet. During the researches the pick edge wear, pressure, tangential and side force and dustiness were measured under several selected mining parameters. For the research there were used shearer adjacent Alpine and Boart picks. The cutting with picks was assisted with high-pressure water jet from the front and back. For cutting with assistance of high-pressure water jet the Saphintec type nozzles of d = 0,3 to 0,8 mm diameter and water pressure of p. = 1 to 60 MPa were used.
