Abstract

Two methods of testing the evolution of fire hazard in the underground coal mines, are presented in the paper. The first concerns the fire hazard evaluation in cavings and is based on the courses of average speeds of the chemical reactions between oxygen and coal in gobs. In the second method the amount of oxidised coal in the mining sections and from the time changes of the coal oxidation intensity we can conclude about the spontaneous fire hazard in the tested mine region.
