Reserve management for production capacity maintenance in Konin mine, Poland
Abstract
The paper presents problems related to management of lignite deposits with complicated geological structure and located in an urban and industrialized region. The new technological solutions related to removal, transport and disposal of overburden are illustrated. The problems involved in management of lignite quality coming from a new mines to two power plants are discussed as are the problems involved in utilization of the abandoned lignite pits for industrial and municipal purposes.
