Abstract

The soaring dust of coal mines is the subject of study of this paper in connection with the anthracosis of miners. It has been shown that 50%-90% of coal particles belong to the fraction lesser than 5um which causes most of lung anthracosis. The dust under study contained free state pyrite particles. The presented data describe particles’ morphology in relation with the kind of macerais. The authors think, that the composition of the soaring dust may, to a considerable degree, initiate the blast danger.
