Abstract

This paper presents studies or rock mass characteristics in coal mines. The statistical approach to defining the trace spacings in the condition of multiple sets of discontinuities coexisting in the same rock mass is presented. Window statistic method of trace length is introduced and the way to determine the maximum movable domains of the dangerous rock in the roadways is presented. Selection of the optimum axial directions using the statistical parameters is introduced, which provide scientific basis for the support design of roadways.
