Abstract

The paper, after a brief general discussion of the methods for horizontal, inclined/vertical ways excavation, compares some cases of horizontal and inclined tunnel driving by TBM under the aspect of machine mean performances. The comparison of the cases makes possible to draw some criteria, enabling to forecast the TBM performances in horizontal and in inclined tunnel driving.
