Lakes in the Kingdom of Nepal — A case study
Abstract
In Nepal, there are about 700 significant lakes. Among them, lakes lager than 50 hectares are 5% only. Numbers of lakes having surface area between 10 to 50 hectares are 16%. Similarly, lakes with surface area between 5 to 10 hectares are 18% and, lakes with surface area less than 5 hectares are 61%.
