Synthetic design hydrographs for flood-control reservoirs and flood-plain management
Abstract
In the present paper a procedure for the estimation of synthetic design hydrographs for flood-control reservoirs and flood-plain management is proposed. The method is based on the construction of the flow duration reduction curve, obtained from the statistical analysis of the maximum values of the average flood discharges in given duration and on the determination of the temporal location of the peak values in each duration.
