Analysis of short duration and high intensity rainfall temporal evolution
Abstract
Many hydrologic problems can best be solved through the joint application of stochastic and deterministic methods. For instance, to solve different tasks in urban hydrology with help of mathematical simulation it is necessary to apply a certain design storm: rain events with a return period of 5 to 10 years, as directed in the European standard, usually offer sufficient protection against flooding.
