An experimental study on a modified Larinier fishway
Abstract
We made some modifications to the original chevron-type Larinier fishway, such that refuges (dented spaces) were installed at approximately regular intervals on the side walls, and that a narrow aperture was placed between the sill and the side wall (on both sides). Then we carried out hydraulic experiments using three kinds of models, and fish behavior observations of two kinds of fish released into one of the models.
