Abstract

In the water supply and waste water disposal market economic aspects are increasingly emphasized, i.e. the main interest of involved both public and private partners is affected by the economic consequences of every method for the maintenance of water. Thus, every possible cost reduction is a necessary contribution towards solving the present problems of the water management field, especially in wastewater treatment, and as more as a side effect in becoming sufficiently competitive Europe-wide or even internationally. Wastewater sewer systems and sewage treatment plants alone are not to be considered as integrated environment protection schemes, however, they also can be optimized with such approaches.
