Mathematical model of water circulation within the Goro Lagoon

The model analysis of water circulation within the Goro Lagoon (Sacca di Goro) has had the primary objective of verifying the operation of some hydraulic works undertaken for the improvement of hydrodynamic circulation and water change through the natural movements of waters, designed in 1998 and carried out in 1999. The simulation model has been based on a detailed bathymetric survey, which was carried out during spring 1999. Data for the model finalization and calibration have been retrieved from the measurements made by the Emilia Romagna Region during autumn 1998 and in the course of two campaigns of tidal and correntometric surveys which have been carried out expressly within the present study in spring 1999.
