Abstract

The main factors that affect variation of water quality in a river are dilution, water temperature, and waste inputs. Among them, the dilution could be controlled by regulating flow in the river utilizing hydraulic structures such as reservoirs along the river. Many studies have examined the use of reservoirs for control of downstream water quality.
