Water saving during irrigation — Analysis of the efficiency

The main provisions of the proposed method for the analysis of water saving efficiency during irrigation are described in the present paper. Before the preparation of investment projects for water saving measures, at the stage of Master-plan elaboration for the water resources management and agricultural development, it is important, with the use of available and easily accessible data, to carry out the analysis and to define which measures and where will be economically justified (beneficial) and the most preferable. On the base of such analyses results it will make easier the preparation and location of the most beneficial projects. This task could be solved on the basis of the establishment of: a) Minimum prices for water P r , with which its savings in water sources by the implementation of different water saving measures in different natural — economic conditions will be still economically justified, and b) Maximum prices for water P u , with which its use from water sources for compensation of water shortages for irrigation, and development of new lands in different natural — economic conditions will be still economically justified.
