The Lombardia region experience in the planning of the Lambro Park and the Lombardia side of the Ticino Park
Abstract
The Lombardia Region, whose economy is highly developed and whose territory is densely urbanized, has initiated since the 70’s an intense scheme of environmental preservation in order to regulate urban development in major cities such as Milan and in 1983 established a complex system of protected areas, with 8 parks to safeguard the major rivers and their related habitats.
