Abstract

Soil reinforcement interaction parameters used in the design of reinforced soil systems such as embankment, steep slopes, and retaining walls are typically evaluated with the help of pull-out tests. In the proposed paper a series of pull-out tests in big laboratory model stand will be described. During the tests we have used sand reinforced with polyester geogrid strip and we have investigate the influence of vertical and horizontal orientation, length of strip reinforcement and finally the depth of embedment. The presented results will be discussed and compared with different up-to date conceptual models especially from the 2-D and 3-D point of view and some recommendations in this field will be proposed.
