Abstract

Experimental and numerical analyses have been used to investigate leachate movement. The experimental set-up includes glass and P.V.0 tubes filled by soils. In experiment with glass tube, the soil was placed into the tube and then water is added on the top of the soil. The water level is kept constant and infiltration depth is measured at time intervals. The experimental set-up of P.V.0 tubes is the same as above but the tube is cut into 10cm long sections. One soil sample is taken from each section for water content measurment. In the numerical study, the mentioned experimental set-up has been modelled using finite difference simulation. The conductivity parameters of dry soil, used in this study, were measured using porous-plate apparatus. At the end, the results of experimental and numerical study is compared.
