Abstract

Our purpose in presenting this paper is to describe examples of a range of applications and related benefits that can result from application of the new Advanced Integrated Wastewater Ponding System (AIWPS) Technology. AIWPS Technology is important for the future because systems can be designed to treat most organic wastes and to fit almost any size, from a few houses to large cities: for gas and nutrient recovery, for industries such as small dairies or large animal feedlots and for control of toxicity from small drainage systems to large agricultural irrigation districts. In short AIWPS Plants can provide, scientifically derived, dependable hygienic wastewater treatment to the quaternary degree; are more economical to build and Operate than any comparable alternative; are applicable to many types and strengths of wastewater and; by a five to ten fold decrease in energy demand, greatly decrease the greenhouse gas emissions associated with more conventional wastewater treatment systems.
