Abstract

The state-of-the-art of the dynamic interaction studies is first discussed. A practical technique—the decoupling direct method for the studies is then introduced briefly and demonstrated systematically via a series Of numerical experiments. The focal point of the technique 7 thatis 7 the decoupling simulation Of infinite media is further clarified in four aspects—its Originalformulation 7 its relationship with other schemes of simulating infinite media 7 its spurious reflection analyses and its stable implementation. Applications of the decoupling direct method to the forward problems Of dynamic interaction and a challenge to cope With the related inverse problems in the next century are briefly addressed.
