Abstract

With the increasing geotechnical engineering activities, principal environmental problems caused by geotechnical engineering are the deformation of soil layers, too large displacement and differential settlement and so forth. Now, what we must do further is to forecast, control, prevent and eliminate these problems effectively. Though we have done a lot about these problems and got some theoretical basis as well as experience, we still have encountered many difficulties when we have to solve some complex problems. This paper is based on the author's several years' research on theoretical and practical work and is to serve as a reference of the readers. All advice and criticism are welcome.
