Abstract

The detection of carbon monoxide is almost interpreted as early stage of heating. The methods which are normally adopted to impede heating in underground working panels are based on minimizing the heat generation rate or increasing its dissipation. The fog of atomized water droplets of size < 0.3 mm with additives (endothermic chemicals) is applied for diminishing the heat generation rate at GDK-9 incline. Likewise application of nitro fog gel forms an impervious layer which interrupts the aerial oxidation of coal and restrains the heating. Besides this, adequacy of some chemicals to suppress the heating in complex underground situation, its economics, and availability are evaluated and application technologies are framed.
