AMAP'sols Static Penetration in Dense Sandy Gravel, Sandstone and Hard Claystone
Abstract
For many years, common knowledge dictated that static penetration could not be applied to investigate gravel, hard layers or soft rock ledges. This was concluded from refusals met in these layers at shallow depth and from the damage caused to expensive electric cones.
