Revetments and bed protections
Abstract
There is a great number of research reports and publications on filtration of geotextiles, design criteria, and their applications in revetment structures. Yet, there is a misunderstanding about the function of geotextiles in the total design of these structures, especially in comparison with the granular filters. The stability of protective structures subject to currents and wave attack is a complex problem. Therefore, the general principles and criteria for designing revetments incorporating geotextiles are reviewed in this Chapter.
