Interpretation method of compaction test results on powders

Exploitation of the analytical solution written in the case of simple compression test with perfect plastic fluid leads to an identification method of the yield criterium corresponding to pastes or pulverulent products. A such identification method has been assessed and validated by the use with ceramic paste, sand or dry clay powder. By considering the analogy between compression test and pressing test, characterization of powder behaviour is made possible thanks to compression tests with confinement. Pressing test data on cellulose powders show the benefits of the procedure.
