Field tests before and after blasting compaction
Abstract
Cone penetration tests (CPT) and cone pressuremeter tests (CPMT) are used to investigate the in-situ state of an open pit mine fill before and after single and group blasting compaction. The interpretation of the CPT and CPMT, which is carried out on the base of a hypoplastic cavity expansion model allows an accurate estimation of the density taking into account the influence of depth on the cone resistance and on the pressuremeter limit pressure.
