TBM performance and Q-system parameters
Abstract
A unique set of TBM performance data and corresponding correlation levels with numerous standard rock mass description and classification methods was recently published by Sundaram et al. (1998). This is reproduced in its entirety in Tables 6 and 7 . The TBM was instrumented, and an electronic data logger was installed to record standard machine variables. Five are listed in Table 6 . The rock mass was continually mapped behind the back-up, with division into homogeneous structural and geological zones. Sixteen rock and rock mass parameters were measured, as listed in the table.
