Abstract

Better tiebacks have led to increased use. Most of the improvements have come from specialist organizations that design and install the tiebacks. Today, these more sophisticated tieback techniques dominate the market. A competent engineer must know when to incorporate these techniques in his design. The principles of design must be understood to evaluate any tieback and this chapter addresses the important tieback design principles.
