Abstract

Brief discussions of tieback materials were included in earlier chapters. This chapter is a general discussion of the materials commonly used in tieback construction and their merits. Tendons, anchors, connections, centering devices, bond breakers, regrout pipes, and other materials will be discussed in some detail. Materials solely for corrosion protection purposes are discussed in the next chapter. Selection of the procedure for making the tiebacks may determine some of the materials that have to be used in construction, and instances of this are discussed.
