A biogeographic comparison of the dinosaurs and associated vertebrate faunas from the Mesozoic of Australia and Southeast Asia
Abstract
Dinosaurs, and associated vertebrate faunas, are known from several sites in Australia ana Southeast Asia, but the majority of them come from deposits of Early Cretaceous age (Valanginian- Albian). Comparisons between the faunas of these two regions show almost nothing in common of biogeographic significance, a scenario which supports the close proximity of Southeast Asia with mainland Asia since the start of the Mesozoic Era.
