Permeability tests in boreholes
Abstract
In this chapter, several techniques frequently used for the determination of the permeability of aquifers through tests performed in small diameter boreholes are described. The application of these techniques is especially important during the feasibility studies performed prior to dam construction. Equally important might be the contributions of these tests during the dam construction, which are applied to improve the effectiveness of the impermeabilisation works on the dam foundations or in the abutments at the dam site.
