Artificial tracers
Abstract
Artificial tracers are absolutely necessary tools for the investigation of leakage from reservoirs. This type of study usually requires a detailed knowledge of the groundwater flow patterns in the concrete zone affected by the leaks. This information can only be obtained through the application of direct techniques such as those based on the use of artificial tracers. Practical experience shows that in almost all cases, the study of the nature and precise flow path of the leaks cannot be determined without applying techniques based on artificial tracers.
